Bar Ready (Level 2)

The Bar Ready series is the most comprehensive and advanced espresso training currently offered in the United States. TampTamp is offering four courses designed to prepare baristas to join the Specialty Coffee Workforce on day 1. In this series BGA Level 1 certified baristas will learn how to "dial-in" an espresso grinder in under 5 minutes, quickly work in pairs on an espresso bar during peak times, to pour award-winning latte art and host public cuppings, or coffee tastings. This series can be taken as 4 independent modules or 1 discounted package of all 4 courses.

Each course in the series is 3 hours in length and is limited to 4 students to ensure ample time for hands-on activities, practice, dialogue, and constructive feedback on individual progress. In addition, students receive handouts in each course with practical information to bring back to their cafe.

Who should take this course:

  • Baristas new to the industry who have passed the BGA Level 1 exam and are seeking to "jump-start" a coffee career.
  • Passionate baristas who are ready to take their skills to the next level or advance their careers.
  • Barista trainers seeking to improve their own foundation of skills and knowledge.

When Baristas have completed this series, they will:

  • Pour advanced latte art designs, such as tulips and double rosettas
  • Have skills to make rapid adjustments to grinders and adjust dosing and distribution techniques
  • Produce drinks at speeds under 1 minute per drink while working in pairs and ensuring quality
  • Lead cuppings and discuss coffee terminology such as body, acidity, and flavor with co-workers and customers
